The Olympics will be the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's biggest ever
interactive operation.

Available via the red button, it will enable
satellite and cable viewers to choose from up
to six channels of action, 24 hours a day.

Freeview viewers will have access to three
extra streams in addition to the offerings
on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ One and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two – the first time
that Freeview has ever offered three
interactive streams.

Olympics Interactive will be a 24-hour
service offering a huge choice of sports as
well as a full text service offering a medals
table, news stories, reports and an events
schedule.

Between 2.00am and 6.00pm BST, Olympics Interactive
will show the best of the day's action, much
of it live, and after that replay the major
events of the day to allow viewers to catch
up on any sports they may have missed.

Particular emphasis will be put on following
members of the Great Britain squad in their
bid for medal glory.

Our interactive air-time will be upped from
1,000 hours of coverage at the Athens
Olympics to 2,450 hours in China, giving
viewers the chance to watch uninterrupted
coverage of their favourite sports.

latest news, photos, results and big-name
analysis on its dedicated Olympics site
(bbc.co.uk/olympics).

And UK users of the website will be able to
watch live video of all the key action. They
will be able to choose from up to six video
streams showing simulcast coverage from
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ TV and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ interactive.

will be available to watch on demand and
there will also be audio commentary
available from Radio 5 Live, via the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ

There will be video training guides from the
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sport Academy to help people learn
more about the sports that make up the
Olympic Games at bbc.co.uk/sportacademy.

We will be launching an Olympic blog –
authored by Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ journalists and presenters,
athletes and experts – which will have plenty of
gossip, anecdotes and photos and gives readers
to chance to interact with our writers.

results and sport-by-sport results, and a daily
event schedule and sport-by-sport event

An automated coverage scheduler
will give an hour-by-hour guide to what is on

highlights podcast, content visualising stories

Mobile phone users can sign up for free* daily
Olympics text alerts. We will send a maximum
of two texts per day alerting users when key
events of that day are about to happen.
