The Championship returns on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland


The Championship is back on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Northern Ireland and this year, there's more live action for Ulster GAA fans to enjoy, with a new presenter in the chair, and a top new pundit added to the team.

Seven of the eight Ulster Senior Football Championship games will be live on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two Northern Ireland, including the semi-finals and the final.

The other match, Tyrone v Down, will be shown in its entirety later on the same day.

The action gets underway on Sunday 18 May with the Antrim v Cavan clash from Casement Park at 3.30pm on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two Northern Ireland.

Austin O'Callaghan will present the action from the grounds throughout the Championship, including trips to Belfast's Casement Park, Enniskillen's Brewster Park, Ballybofey in Donegal and Healy Park in Omagh.

Austin will be joined by regular analysts Jarlath Burns and Martin McHugh who will be giving their views on the day's action.

But a new addition to the team this year is Armagh's All-Ireland winning coach Joe Kernan who will be offering his expert tactical analysis on the sideline with pitchside reporter Thomas Kane.

Mark Sidebottom will be in the commentary box and will be joined by Enda Gormely for the first game from Casement Park. Throughout the series, other star GAA names will join him on co-commentary.

Each programme will also have a round-up of all the action from the Ulster Minor championship with Denise Watson.

The series will have features on the players in the build-up to the games and will show edited highlights of The Ulster Hurling Final on Sunday 15 June.

Sunday Sportsound on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Ulster MW will also have live coverage of all the games in the Ulster Championship.

Jerome Quinn introduces the action starting with the Antrim v Cavan opening game on 18 May at 3.00pm.

Owen McConnon will be in the commentary box with analysis during the season from Adrian McGuckin and Brian Canavan.

Presented by Lynette Fay, Fearghal Mag Uiginn and PΓ³l Mac Fheidhlimidh, the bilingual gaelic games programme discusses the best of the day's Championship action, stories and craic.
