Premiership football highlights return to the Â鶹ԼÅÄ this August, and Match of the Day will be back on Â鶹ԼÅÄ ONE on Saturday nights with the pick of the day's action.

Ìý

As well as the return of Match of the Day, thereÂ’s also Match of the Day 2 new for Sunday nights on Â鶹ԼÅÄ TWO, a re-vamped Football Focus, and a brand new interactive score service Score Interactive throughout the afternoon for digital viewers.

Â…It's all about the football

Ìý

Celebrating its 40th year on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Television, Match of the Day will be live on Saturday nights from 14 August with comprehensive highlights and analysis of the English Premiership.

Ìý

Gary Lineker is joined by pundits Alan Hansen, Mark Lawrenson and Peter Schmeichel and a range of special guests within a brand new studio.

Ìý

For the first time, Match of the Day is sending a commentator to every match, and will include highlights of every match within the programme – not just the goals.

Ìý

Match of the Day commentators for the new season include: John Motson, Barry Davies, Steve Wilson, Jonathan Pearce, Simon Brotherton, Guy Mowbray, John Roder, Tony Gubba and Ian Gwyn Hughes.

Ìý

As well as the Premiership, Match of the Day will also have live coverage of all England home World Cup qualifiers as well as England friendlies, and three live FA Cup games from the third round onwards.

Match of the Day is live at 10.30pm, Â鶹ԼÅÄ ONE, on Saturday nights.

Ìý

For younger football fans, the programme is repeated every Sunday morning on Â鶹ԼÅÄ ONE with a special feature for children included.

Â…The last word on the Premiership weekend

Ìý

Adrian Chiles presents Match of the Day 2, a new programme for Sunday evenings on Â鶹ԼÅÄ TWO at 10.00pm.

Ìý

As well as comprehensive highlights from Sunday's games Match of the Day 2 will wrap up all the weekend's Premiership games, taking in all the incidents, talking points and controversy.

Ìý

Joining Adrian will be a range of pundits from the world of football, including the likes of Gordon Strachan and Tony Adams, to analyse the action.


Final Score

Presented by Ray Stubbs, Final Score returns to our screens on 7 August. And in addition, from September Ray Stubbs presents Score Interactive.

Ìý

Score Interactive is a new live scores and results service on Â鶹ԼÅÄi – available to all digital television viewers.

Ìý

Score Interactive will run throughout the afternoon on Â鶹ԼÅÄi, returning to Â鶹ԼÅÄ ONE for half-time scores and Final Score at 4.30pm and then continuing on Â鶹ԼÅÄi until 6.00pm for further analysis of the results.

Analysing the scores with Ray Stubbs will be guests including Gary Pallister and Gavin Peacock.

Digital viewers* can access Score Interactive by pressing the red button on their remote control on any Â鶹ԼÅÄ channel and selecting Score i from the list of features.

Football Focus returns to Â鶹ԼÅÄ ONE for the new football season, beginning Saturday 7 August at 12.10pm.

Ìý

Hosted by new presenter Manish Bhasin, with guests including Mark Lawrenson and Gordon Strachan, Football Focus previews the weekend's games across the English and Scottish leagues.

Ìý

Features for the new season include Cult Heroes, a search for the nation's favourite footballing cult heroes – whether they had cheeky charisma or a certain sartorial style.
