Steven Ormsby
Steven Ormsby

My name is Steven Ormsby, I am originally from Fermanagh and am a nephew of the poet Frank Ormsby. I have lived and worked in Belfast now for 6 years. I write poetry to ease the stresses of the day and for my wife Sheena.

Old Archdale by Steven Ormsby

The well trodden track snakes along the shoreline,
The Ernes' gentle lapping massages the troubled senses.

With my sweethearts hand entwined gently with mine
we pace softly into peacefulness.

For this is a world far from the hungry city,
stress holds no jurisdiction here.
Nature is the master over all,
her spiritual hold reawakens the soul.

Young and old retreat to this haven,
both inquisitive duck and enthusiastic swimmer
glide in harmony off shore.
Inspired lovers can share a tender embrace as the wind
whistles a romantic tune through the knowing trees.
