Steph McGuckin

Steph McGuckin was born in Magherafelt, Co. Derry and has been writing from a young age. She moved to Belfast in 2004 to pursue a degree in English and Film Studies. After graduating, she decided to develop her hobby of writing poetry into a career. Her aim is to become a published author.

Oh Right, Ok? by Steph McGuckin

Callers who think you care
Are always there,
On sleepy mornings
And angry afternoons.
On and on
The comments flow,
While all the while
You’re biting your tongue.
Hanging up accidentally on purpose
Is the only viable way,
To end the surplus
Complaints and questions
Directed at a mind so tired,
So bored, so bothered;
I am not paid to care
So don’t feel you have to share.Μύ
