Childish fun,
Alone outside,
The quietness and the sun.
The grass that softly tickles through my toes,
The gentle breeze that kisses as it blows,
Just me alone, with daisies all around,
The jewels of childhood scattered on the ground.
Yet quite grown up I sit alone and play,
I chase the hopes and dreams of yesterday
By quietly weaving broken, fragile flowers
Into a pretty crown, I sit for hours.
The delicate tiara softly rests
Upon my head, a lonely lost princess,
A fairy grounded by her broken wings,
A mermaid, who for love no longer sings,
The girl who sits with flowers in her hair,
Still waiting for the love she hopes is there.
The man who won’t give up, whose heart is strong,
Whose heart is hers, to him her heart belongs.
He’ll come for her, through every trial and test.
He’ll come for her because their love is blessed.
Forever destined, written by God’s hand,
Eternally protected, kept and planned.
He’ll love her through the scars that he can see,
He’ll love her for the person she can be.
My moment in the sun is almost gone,
The childish fun must stop, things must go on,
The little girl who grew up far too fast
Is still alone and frightened in the past.
The daisies have all withered now it seems,
I stand and leave, it’s way too late for dreams. ÌýÌýÌý
