Rozana Huq
Rozana Huq writes poetry, short stories and fiction. Her work has been published in magazines and journals and featured in a number of Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ broadcasts. Born in Bangladesh but living in Northern Ireland for over 20 years, she takes her inspiration from both cultures. Having recently completed her PhD in Human Resource Management from Queen's University Belfast, she is now looking forward to have more time to pursue her writing.

Blue and white
marshmallow clouds
float peacefully,
in the sky.
Μύ
They look pure,
soft as cotton.
An aura of
innocence and peace
reigns the sky.
Μύ
Suddenly,
a noisy jet plane
shoots across
piercing
their innocent hearts,
leaving a trail
of broken
blue and white
marshmallow bits.
Μύ
Their hearts bleed,
dripping droplets of tears
as they cry out.
But, nobody hears.
Μύ
Our carbon emission
fills their lungs
and our ugly carbon foot prints
leave unwelcoming marks
on their door steps.
