The space suits that the Artemis 3 astronauts will wear on their mission to the Moon have been revealed.

The futuristic uniforms have been co-designed for US space agency Nasa by Italian fashion brand Prada and Axiom Space.

“This is a ground-breaking partnership,” said Russel Ralston, executive vice president of the tech company, during a press conference in Milan on Wednesday.

“We’re blending engineering, science and art.”

The mostly white suits are made to be "one size fits all", meaning they will be suitable for both men and women.

The Artemis mission hopes to see the first woman and the first non-white astronaut on the Moon.

These suits have been many years in the making, with prototypes being created in the build-up to this final reveal.

Red stripes on the arms and torso of the suit provides a hint of the Prada brand, but there is no visible lettering or logo on them.

Prada say their designers' knowledge of specialist fabrics and sewing techniques has helped create these pioneering suits and make sure they work well during the missions, whilst also being super stylish!

Special boots have been engineered so astronauts can take part in long spacewalks for at least eight hours a day.

Plus, the white material is designed to reflect heat and offer protection from extremely high temperatures and lunar dust.

They are also made from multiple small sections so mobility is improved compared to the older Apollo 17 designs.

The mission, which is currently set to launch in 2026, hopes to put the first humans on the moon since 1972.
