Joe Wicks has given his last online PE lesson of the summer term today.

He says he has "loved every minute" of the workouts which he began at the start of the coronavirus pandemic lockdown in March.

Millions of children and adults have tuned in to the live keep fit sessions over the last 18 weeks.

"I've absolutely loved every minute of it but it's time for me to take some rest and recharge my batteries" he said on an Instagram post.

"It's not the end though. I'll be back doing more live workouts later on in the year."

He said he will miss doing the workouts but feels "very proud that I've been able to bring so many people together during lockdown".

There is no set date for him to return at the moment.

"What a journey we have all been on together," he said on social media. "Thank you for being a part of it with me, I've loved every single moment of it.

"Never give up, always believe in yourself and keep turning up."
