Prince Harry turns 30 - his life in pictures

Prince Harry, fourth in line to the throne and the Prince of Wales's youngest son, is celebrating his 30th birthday. Harry was born Prince Henry Charles Albert David of Wales at 4.20pm, weighing 6lb 14oz (3.1kg), on September 15 1984.
Seen here in the arms of his mother, Princess Diana, Harry came into the world at the private Lindo wing of St Mary's Hospital, London, in the same room where older brother Prince William was born two years earlier. Harry's nephew Prince George of Cambridge was also born in the Lindo wing in 2013.
Being a member of the royal family, Prince Harry has always received lots of media attention. A three-year-old Harry zooms in on the army of press photographers waiting outside his new kindergarten in London's Notting Hill, using a homemade pair of binoculars.
As a youngster, Harry was only called "Henry" when he had been "very, very naughty", his father Charles once revealed. Here he is being very well behaved arriving for a school carol concert.

Harry went to Eton College, a very well-known private boarding school in England, where he achieved a B in Art and a D in Geography in his A Levels.
Harry's nickname is "Spike" - used by friends and even his bodyguards. Speaking of spikes, the Prince yelps in pain after being pricked by an echidna named Spike during a visit to Taronga Zoo in Sydney, Australia, to mark the start of his gap year.
He entered the Royal Military Academy Sandhurst in May 2005 and went on to become a Second Lieutenant in the British Army's Household Cavalry.
Harry, who now holds the rank of Captain, has served in Afghanistan twice - as a Forward Air Controller in 2007/08 and as an Apache Pilot between September 2012 and January 2013.
Prince Harry now has a Staff Officer role in Headquarters London District and helps co-ordinate commemorative events involving the Army.
When Harry headed overseas to Jamaica in 2012 to mark his grandmother's Diamond Jubilee, he showed himself a perfect statesman for modern royalty. He sprinted with Olympic 100m champion Usain Bolt and danced to reggae music in the capital, Kingston.
When Harry was 21, the Prince set up his Sentebale charity in memory of his mother, Diana, to help Aids orphans in Lesotho, southern Africa. He also travelled to Angola (above) in August 2013 to see landmine clearance work by a charity championed by his mother just months before she died.
Harry also set up his own foundation with his brother - The Royal Foundation of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry. The charity focuses on helping young people, raising awareness and support for the Armed Forces, and championing conservation work. Here they both are with a rock python during a visit to Botswana.
Harry (right, in red) is a passionate supporter of Walking with the Wounded, which funds the re-training of wounded servicemen and women. He took part in a gruelling trek to the South Pole in December 2013 in aid of the charity, which saw him trek more than 200 miles across the bleak continent where temperatures dropped as low as -45 Celsius.
In July 2013, Prince Harry became a devoted uncle with the arrival of Prince George of Cambridge and described the announcement that a second baby is on the way for his brother and sister-in-law as "very exciting news".
Prince Harry celebrated his 30th birthday following a very busy few days. He was the driving force behind the Invictus Games, a sporting event for 400 wounded servicemen and women, which took place over four days in London from September 10-14, 2014.
