"Manchester has always welcomed me, and it will be great to end the tour there." | Kylie on why Showgirl will end in Manchester |
It had looked like the pop princess would only visit London on her return to the UK, but now Kylie has said she wants to end the world tour in the city. As she put it, "I'm so happy that we've managed to fit in extra shows outside of London. Manchester has always welcomed me, and it will be great to end the tour there". The Showgirl tour was postponed last year after Kylie was diagnosed with breast cancer, for which the star has since received treatment.

All of which means that there’ll be two shows at the M.E.N Arena, on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 January 2007, tickets for which will go on sale at 9.00am on Friday 25 August, priced at £49. Kylie has made it clear that these performances will definitely mark the end of her Showgirl Greatest Hits tour and they will make a wonderful mirror ending to the tour, which began with five sold out shows in Manchester back in April 2005. It’s thought that these will be her last shows anywhere in the world until 2008 at the earliest, although rumours persist that she may be headlining Glastonbury Festival next year. |
