On board the 'Matthew' - a replica of the ship which was used by John Cabot to sail to Newfoundland more than 500 years ago. The Matthew was moored at Gloucester Docks for the 'Pirates Weekend' (25-26 October 2008).

Your panoramic photo is really good, but it would have been even better to have taken it during the Pirate event itself - this would have given a good idea of the atmosphere, and the numbers of people attending
