The Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic and Chief Conductor Juanjo Mena begin their 8-date tour of Spain in Zaragoza on the banks of the Ebro River. The concert opens with William Walton’s bright, lively comedy overture ‘Scapino’. The orchestra are then joined by renowned violinist Julia Fischer, who performs Mendelssohn’s Violin Concerto, one of the greatest of all Romantic works for violin. And to end, a glorious showcase for the musicians of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic, the Concerto for Orchestra by Bela Bartok.
