Concert Information:
UPDATED Saturday 10 May:
Boris Belkin replaces Julia Fischer, who is unable to perform due to an injury. This means a change to the programme, in which he will be performing Bruch's Violin Concerto instead of Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto.
The Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic’s penultimate concert of its tour of Spain is in Pamplona, famous for its San Fermin festival and the running of the bulls.
Chief Conductor Juano Mena opens the concert with a work by the French composer Gabriel Pierne, his overture to ‘Ramuntcho’. Russian violinist Boris Belkin performs Bruch's Violin Concerto (replacing Mendelssohn's Violin Concerto) and to end, Bartok’s masterpiece gives the musicians of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic the chance to shine in the dazzling Concerto for Orchestra.
