French conductor Franck Ollu joins the orchestra in MediaCity for a live Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3 broadcast with clarinetist Mark Simpson.
This afternoon’s programme offers an exciting blend of the old and new. Beginning with Russian composer Glazunov's’ Concert Waltz No 1’, we then journey home with contemporary British composer Mark-Anthony Turnage's piece for Clarinet and Orchestra, ‘Riffs and Refrains’, featuring Mark Simpson. The programme finishes with a return to Russia with the suite of Rimsky- Korsakov's fantasy ballet ‘Mlada’.
