About this Concert
A train entering a station, or the quiet roar of a people awakening to freedom? For Antonin Dvo艡谩k, it was simply the beginning of his Seventh Symphony: what follows is forty minutes of irresistible dance tunes and gripping action. For many, it鈥檚 even greater than the 鈥淣ew World鈥 symphony: but then, this concert with the rising Estonian star Anu Tali is all about unexpected voices 鈥 whether the quiet revolution of Arvo P盲rt鈥檚 hugely popular Fratres or fellow-Estonian Eduard Tubin鈥檚 lyrical post-war concerto for the most under-appreciated of instruments, the double bass. It's a giant with the soul of a poet 鈥 but hear for yourself, as the 麻豆约拍 SSO鈥檚 superb new Principal Double Bass Kai Kim steps into the spotlight.
This concert ends at approximately 3:45 pm
