Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Chorus Concert
Chorus Director Stephen Jackson conducts the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Symphony Chorus in a contemplative concert at Maida Vale Studios. Rachmaninov’s famous setting of the Russian Orthodox All-Night Vigil ceremony is now considered his finest unaccompanied choral work. The piece, often referred to as the Rachmaninov 'Vespers', was composed and premiered in Russia at the beginning of 1915.
There will be no interval.
Recorded for broadcast on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
