If you are not quite ready to leave when the last note of the concert has faded into silence, then our new series of relaxed and informal post-concert events in the Royal Albert Hall’s Elgar Room is for you. Presented by Petroc Trelawney with music from Suzanne Houston, Kristan Harvey, Matt Robinson and poetry from Paul Batchelor.
Suzanne Houston
Suzanne Houston is a young Glasgow-based pianist specialising in traditional and folk music. She studied at the National Centre Of Excellence In Traditional Music during her school years, and went on to graduate from Glasgow's Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama with an Honours degree in Scottish Music
Kristan Harvey
Fiddle player Kristan Harvey is this year's Â鶹ԼÅÄ Scotland Young Traditional Musician Of The Year. And recently graduated from the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music And Drama with an Honours degree having specialised in classical violin.
Matt Robinson
Since moving to London in 2008, Matt Robinson has studied at the Royal Academy of Music with Tom Cawley, Nikki Iles and Gwilym Simcock. He also writes his own music and has played at several jazz venues across London.
Paul Batchelor
Paul Batchelor's debut collection of poems The Sinking Road was published by Bloodaxe in 2008 and shortlisted for the Jerwood-Aldeburgh Prize and the Glen Dimplex First Collection Prize. His poems have also appeared in Poetry London, Poetry Review and the Times Literary Supplement. He is a literary critic for the Times, and wrote a PhD on Barry MacSweeney's poetry.
Free tickets to Proms Plus Lates in the Elgar Room are available to ticket-holders of the evening Prom from Door 6 of the Royal Albert Hall in the interval of the concert (except 5 August available 30 minutes before the concert).
