Some of the most successful artists to come out of Â鶹ԼÅÄ Introducing in recent years are often invited back to perform on our festival stages, and Royal Blood are one of our superb returning artists this year.
Mike Kerr, vocalist and bassist, and drummer Ben Thatcher form this Brighton rock duo who have been firmly on the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s radar for the past year. After being chosen to fulfil a slot on the Radio 1 playlist at the end of last year, they were also invited to Maida Vale to play for Huw Stephens, and proceeded to be named on the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Sound of 2014 poll, as the standalone rock-representatives on the long list. They’ve also been wowing crowds across the pond on our stage at this year’s SXSW festival with their high-tempo sound produced purely through intense drum beats, pounding bass and Kerr’s remarkable vocals.
Since bursting onto the scene with their explosive alternative rock tracks, including playlist track Out Of The Black and latest song Little Monster, Royal Blood have been one of the hottest new acts in their genre, with Glastonbury, T in the Park and Download already snapping them up to appear on their bills.
But first of all, Royal Blood will be kicking off their summer in style with a highlight set at our Big Weekend in Glasgow.
