Gurrelieder is Schoenberg鈥檚 Tristan and Isolde, an opulent, late-Romantic giant. The LSO and Sir Simon Rattle are joined by an outstanding line-up of soloists, including soprano Eva-Maria Westbroek and tenor Simon O鈥橬eill as lovers Tove and Waldemar.

What started out as a modest song-cycle grew into one of the most opulent musical giants of the 20th century 鈥� a cantata of Wagnerian ambition and proportions.
