Concert Information
Join the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Concert Orchestra at Watford Colosseum for an evocative afternoon of twentieth-century orchestral music.
¸é²¹±¹±ð±ô’s Le Tombeau de Couperin, originally a suite for solo piano, pays homage to both baroque French music and friends of the composer who died in World War I through an almost childlike world of orchestral colour. Young Franco-Spanish guitarist and Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3 New Generation Artist Thibaut Garcia performs Rodrigo’s ever popular Concierto de Aranjuez, considered the cornerstone of the classical guitar concerto repertoire. English composer Elizabeth Maconchy’s composition Nocturne for Orchestra creates a mysterious, dreamlike atmosphere while the folkloristic Concerto for Orchestra by Lutoslawski rounds the afternoon’s concert off with a flourish!
This concert will be broadcast live on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 3 for Afternoon on 3.
Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis. Please note that as not everyone who asks for tickets uses them, to make sure we have a full house we send out more tickets than there are places. We do our best to get the numbers right, but unfortunately we occasionally have to disappoint people so please arrive early.
