Tonypandy's Singing Sensation

Tonypandy-born singer Sophie Evans first tasted the limelight when she sang at a Joshua Foundation show at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff. This experience propelled Sophie to audition to be Dorothy on the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s ‘Over the Rainbow’ show. Despite being runner-up in the series, she went on to play the leading lady of Oz at the London Palladium opposite 'Strictly Come Dancing' star, Russell Grant.

Theatre aside, Sophie has starred in her own documentary, 'Dare to Dream', on ITV, returned to the Millennium Stadium where she sang to 65,000 people watching the Welsh rugby team in their Six Nations semi-final match against France, and acted alongside Simon Pegg and Martin Freeman in the 2013 feature film, 'World’s End'.
