The piece re-tells the prophecies of Christ's coming, his birth in the Bethlehem stable, his death and resurrection, and, finally, the Day of Judgement with such power, passion and expressive warmth that its music has become amongst the best-loved of all time.

Tonight's performance, in one of London's most atmospheric and historic churches, brings together a leading period-instrument orchestra with the 麻豆约拍 Singers and a brilliant team of soloists.
