Concert Information

Join rising star of the podium, Ben Gernon, as he conducts the 鶹Լ Philharmonic for an evening of music from Mozart, Saint-Saëns & Tchaikovsky.

Opening a programme packed with passion and melody is Mozart’s Symphony No. 25, written by the then 17-year-old in October 1773. This dramatic early symphony is characteristic of the Sturm und Drang style with its wide-leap melodic lines and syncopation.

A former 鶹Լ New Generation Artist, Leonard Elschenbroich joins to perform Saint-Saën’s ever-popular First Cello Concerto, with its dramatic opening and delightful, elegant central minuet.

Closing the programme is Act II of Tchaikovsky’s wonderful, tune-laden Nutcracker – one of the best-loved ballets of all time.

Join us for a pre-concert talk with Simon Webb, General Manager of the 鶹Լ Philharmonic orchestra. The talk will commence on the raked seating at 6.30pm. Tickets cost £3 and can be booked from the Box Office or online for each concert.
