Concert Information

Juanjo Mena conducts the orchestra for an evening of music including Tan Dun鈥檚 The Tears of Nature. This piece was written specifically for tonight鈥檚 soloist, Martin Grubinger - dubbed by critics as 鈥榓 wizard of percussion鈥�.

Nothing in British music is more thrilling than the opening of tonight鈥檚 final piece - Elgar鈥檚 Second Symphony - and nothing quite matches what follows: a no-holds barred emotional autobiography, ending in a sunset of heart-breaking beauty.
