Information

Join the Nottinghamshire Family Orchestra and Chorus
and perform with musicians from the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic
as part of Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Day 2016

Are you a musical family living in Nottinghamshire?
Would you like to perform with musicians from one of the world's greatest orchestras in the Â鶹ԼÅÄ's nationwide Music Day?
Then sign up for the Nottinghamshire Family Orchestra and Chorus today.

The Nottinghamshire Family Orchestra is made up of musicians of all ages - mums, dads, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles or grandparents. Everyone is welcome, from music students and teachers to those who’ve never played in an orchestra before. Whatever instrument you play, at whatever level, you can come and join in. We ask that you bring at least one other member of your family with you. If any of you don’t play a musical instrument, or you’d prefer to sing, that’s fine too because there’s also a Family Chorus.

On Friday 3 June, as part of Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Day, we’ll be joining players from the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic, the Salford Family Orchestra, students from the RNCM and some special guests from Â鶹ԼÅÄ Children’s TV in a performance in the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic Studio at MediaCityUK in Salford.

Together we’ll be creating a new piece based on some of this year’s Â鶹ԼÅÄ Ten Pieces and performing/recording it in the studio as part of the Â鶹ԼÅÄ’s annual celebration of music – Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Day 2016 which will happen on Friday 3 June across all media and digital platforms.

The new piece will be created over two weekends in May, where most of the ideas will come from you, and then developed with help from the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic team and composer, Fraser Trainer. The sessions will be informal, inspiring and lots of fun and your finished piece will be recorded for broadcast.
