Nope, this isn’t famed Norwegian house/disco producer Todd Terje performing with the Olsen twins. Rather, Terje (real name Terje Olsen) has got a band together (featuring his brother on drums), which brings to life his 2014 self-produced debut, It’s Album Time - a critical smash that introduced Terje to a global audience after a decade of making music in the Scandinavian dance music scene, alongside Lindstrøm and Prins Thomas. On top of that, he’s a songwriter-for-hire (he co-wrote Robbie Williams’s number 1 hit, Candy), and record producer who worked on Franz Ferdinand’s 2013 fourth album Right Thoughts, Right Words, Right Action.
And, of course, he’s a killer DJ, as you’ll be able to tell from his lush 2012 Essential Mix. Within that you can pick up on the full scope of his musical influences - rock, funk, Latin and jazz, as well as house and disco. And it’s that combination of musical flavours you can hear as Terje performs with his band at their first ever Glastonbury.
