Songwriter, producer, rapper and music executive Pharrell Williams has been a giant figure in hip hop, RnB and pop since breaking through as a member of The Neptunes back in the early 1990s and you don’t need us to tell you that he’s currently at the absolute peak of his game. Get Lucky with Daft Punk, Blurred Lines - his controversial track with Robin Thicke - and his own song Happy have all been global smashes in recent years, and there’s barely a significant artist of the last two decades that he ³ó²¹²õ²Ô’t worked with, whether it’s Snoop Dogg, Jay Z, Britney, Madonna, Nicki Minaj, Kelis, Kendrick Lamar… the list is almost endless.
It was no surprise that an artist of Pharrell’s stature was asked to sing the opening lines of the track, God Only Knows, used to celebrate the launch of Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music last year, and he also won Song of The Year for Happy at the inaugural 2014 Â鶹ԼÅÄ Music Awards. And yet, it’s been a while since he played Glastonbury - last performing in 2009 with N.E.R.D. God only knows, it’s about time this titan of popular music made Worthy Farm dance again.
