About this event

Following Beethoven鈥檚鈥楥horal鈥� Symphony on the opening night of the London Olympics (Prom 18), the closing night sees another choral blockbuster. Schoenberg鈥檚 medieval love-tragedy is an early masterpiece in which his late-Romantic voluptuousness attains a radiant C major sunrise apotheosis.

Augmenting substantial 麻豆约拍 forces, Jukka-Pekka Saraste welcomes two guest choirs. An impressive international solo line-up is headed by New Zealand tenor Simon O鈥橬eill as Waldemar, the cursed king. German soprano Angela Denoke makes her Proms debut as Tove and Swedish mezzo-soprano Katarina Karn茅us returns as the voice of the Wood-Dove.
