The charismatic John Wilson conducts the Â鶹ԼÅÄ Philharmonic for an evening of American inspired music.
The concert begins with Bernstein’ popular Candide: Overture- a musical adaptation based on Voltaire's novella. The orchestra then performs Barber’s Violin Concerto, a wartime orchestral work with soloist and New Generation Artist Elena Urioste. It concludes with a set of three atmospheric and accessible pieces by Copland, all with a distinct American composition style.
