Concert Information

Join the orchestra in the magnificent setting of Leeds Town Hall for an evening of Italian music.

Opening the programme with Verdi's melodramatic overture, the orchestra are joined this evening by Lucy Hall (soprano), Â鶹ԼÅÄ New Generation Artist Kathryn Rudge (mezzo), Peter Auty (tenor), Henry Waddington (bass), the Leeds Festival Chorus and their conductor Simon Wright.

This distinctly Italian flavoured evening also includes Puccini's immediately recognisable final masterpiece, Nessun Dorma, before closing with Rossini’s ‘Little Solemn Mass’, Petite messe solomnelle. "One of the sins of my old age" was how Rossini described his piece - which, famously, is neither short nor solemn.
