La Bomba is pretty much everything we've been waiting for for the past twenty episodes or so. The plot is brimming over with intrigue, double-crosses, action and almost unbearable tension. With time running out and a full-scale confrontation brewing between the Scarrans and Peacekeepers, Crichton and the gang hammer together a desperate plan to escape. It's amazing they were able to fit so much into one episode.

Needless to say, Crichton, Aeryn and Scorpius are brilliant, but all the supporting actors are afforded a fair share of the screen time too. I couldn't help rooting for Braca when he gets his little moment of glory. The return of season three regular Stark was also quite an interesting development.

The climax was incredibly tense and exciting - just what we would expect from a season finale. And yet even after such an explosive end, the episode still managed to find time for a moment of emotional reflection, as a traumatised Crichton ponders the implications of what he has done.

I couldn't wish for a more fitting swansong to one of the greatest science fiction shows of all time.

And so we have Crichton & the Great Rock Elevator! What an episode - great lines, great laughs, great effects and a great plot. Everyone in the cast got something good to do, we found out what Sikozu is for and Braca finally got his own ship. And possibly one of the best Farscape line ever: "I can't believe I left a nuclear bomb in an elevator. How embarrassing." Classic.

The episode contained all the elements Farscape does well. There were constant surprises, like Crichton having a conversation with Scorpy in his head and in the flesh simultaneously – bizarre or what? There was great acting - I particularly liked Scorpy losing it in the flower garden, great dialogue and superb action sequences.

The programme is so economical in its use of time. We don’t need to know why the flowers are important - we know that if Scorpius is willing to trade wormholes for their destruction they are about as important as they can get. We don’t need to see every phase of the escape once the bomb goes off. Our heroes have done enough to justify getting clear to us.

And everyone (more or less) ended up happy. Although the thought of a Sputnik/Scorpy tie-up is a bit creepy, it is good to see Pip and the Captain reconciled. Maybe I’ll stop watching now, and remember the series at its best. Unless Claudia Black is going to do that smile again. In that case I might tune in.

Perhaps 'surprise' would be the one word to sum up this fast-paced episode, as the plot contained losts of nice twists and turns. Character development (one of Farscape's strong points) was also evident here.

My favourite part was Braca finally standing up to Grayza and taking command - a moment full of tension as Grayza ordered Braca's death. I also liked was the evolution of Scorpius. As he finally admitted that he couldn't destroy the plant his rage was very well portrayed. Letting us know more about Sikouzu - that she was a resistance fighter, was also a good twist.

Perhaps the stand-out moment was the actual bomb going off itself, with the fearless Chiana scared and everyone passing the time as they waited for the explosion in different ways.

I'd rate it the middling episode of this three parter - with Hot to Katraizi being slightly better and Fetal Attraction slightly weaker.
