"We've gone from Die Hard to Honey, I Shrunk the Hostages" - John Crichton's admirable summing up of another classic Farscape episode.
Introducing another alien species seemed at first to be a mistake - why not bring back the Blood Trackers? - but then the clever armour "reveal" set up a twist. The re-use of the atmosphere scrubbing fans is clever as well.
Forget Land of the Giants, all the miniaturised shots were handled well, and the ending is very good - I loved Aeryn riding to the rescue on a DRD.
Of course, we now know that the Scarrans are after John's head (and the knowledge in it), setting up more Scarran episodes to come.

Another episode with Ben Browder in centre stage. How much is he paying the writers so that he gets to run around with guns, whilst the rest of them have to sit about in hand-cuffs? Well, at least they weren’t poor old granny, who got to spend the entire episode floating about outside.
This was another episode that shows the series' self-confidence. Shrinking people isn’t new in Sci-Fi programmes, but the nitpicker will always have problems with the physics of it all. Farscape recognises this, has Sikozu articulate why it isn’t possible, and then does it anyway.
The episode enabled us to experience again some of the John/Harvey backchat we had all come to love. We all knew that Scorpy couldn’t stay in his cell forever, but did he have a rough time or what? First his gun won’t work and then his cooling rods are sub-standard.
The shrinking/stamping finale was fun, despite a bit of flakiness in the CGI as Aeryn rode into action on 1812.

After a slow and faltering start, it looks like season four has finally gotten into its stride. It's interesting to note that the best episodes this season have been the ones which haven't tried anything particularly new.
The plot is pretty standard Farscape stuff. A group of mercenaries take control of Moya and hold most of the crew hostage, with the exception of Crichton and Scorpius. Problems are compounded by the fact that the mercenaries seemingly have the ability to shrink people and objects at will.
Fortunately, Crichton is for once up to the task. Although he started the season as borderline insane, he is now back on fine form as the resourceful, wise-cracking astronaut. Scorpius, too, has become a much more sympathetic character these past few episodes, mainly due to some fine acting on the part of Wayne Pygram. Highly intelligent and dry humoured, he is the perfect foil for Browder's square-jawed heroics.
Any faults, then? Well, one could say that the other characters are somewhat marginalised. Aeryn still hasn't done anything of note this season, and Granny is conveniently forgotten about.
These are all minor quibbles, though. After the lacklustre Crichton Kicks and the downright nutty John Quixote, this is a welcome tread down a familiar (but interesting) road.
