Three assassins - professional bounty hunters from the Order of
Taraka, an organisation dating back to King Solomon - were summoned
to Sunnydale by Spike, to keep Buffy occupied while he tried to
find a cure for Drusilla. Dru predicted their likeness with her
tarot cards: a cyclops, a millipede and a jaguar.
The first assassin, a leather-clad biker type, attacked Buffy at
the ice rink, and had his throat slashed with one of her ice-skates.
The second, an insect creature in human form, was capable of changing
into swarms of worms. Known as Norman Pfister, he posed as a door-to-door
salesman, selling Blush Beautiful Skin Care products. After killing
one victim, he quickly homed in on Cordelia. Xander and Cordelia
forced Norman to revert to his insect state, and trapped him with
glue, stomping the life out of him!
Initially it seemed that the third assassin was a young Jamaican
woman, Kendra, but Buffy soon discovered that she was, in fact,
another Slayer. Later, as Buffy signed up for a career in law enforcement,
a female cop opened fire, wounding Oz. She escaped, using one of
the students as a shield.
