Never Kill a Boy on the First Date

Trivia

From Buffy to Bull: Christopher Wiehl, who played Owen in this episode, can't seem to escape from the world of Joss Whedon. Landing a starring role in the Wall Street drama series Bull, Wiehl found himself working alongside Elisabeth Rohm (Kate in Angel) and, for one episode, Elizabeth Anne Allen (Amy Madison).

Bronze Band: Fan favourites Velvet Chain made their first appearance on the show here, performing the tracks Strong and Treason at the Bronze. The band's singer, Erika Amato, is often to be found chatting to fans at the official Buffy web site's posting board.

Too Young To Die: It's also a first appearance for Andrew J Ferchland, who surprises everyone by turning out to be The Anointed One. Ferchland appeared throughout the first season before Joss Whedon had to concede that the young actor was growing up rather too fast for a supposedly ageless vampire and bumped him off in season two.

Oops!: In the famous scene where Buffy tells Giles, "If the Apocalypse comes, beep me," she grabs her pager from out of shot. Trouble is, she's standing in the middle of her hall and there's nowhere she could have picked the gadget up from.

Quite Good... For an American: Ever wanted to know more about the poet everyone's talking about in this episode? Emily Dickinson (1830-1886) was an American with the odd habit of not giving her poems names - only numbers. A good source of info about her work can be found at .
