Wesley Wyndham-Pryce
British-born Watcher Wesley Wyndham-Pryce arrived in Sunnydale after
Giles was suspended by the Watcher’s Council, over his handling
of Buffy’s eighteenth birthday test in 'Helpless'.
His reception is initially very hostile, with neither Slayer having
any interest in following his orders, and thinly disguised contempt
from Giles.
He soon comes to appreciate Giles’ experience, which he finds especially
useful when they confronted the cruel vampire Balthazar (in 'Bad
Girls'), forcing him to acknowledge that he has much to learn.
Wesley has gradually become integrated into the gang, and is having
a secret relationship with Cordelia.
Not long after Wesley arrived Faith
killed the Deputy Mayor, and began to conspire against the rest
of the gang. Wesley has been unable to control the rebellious Faith,
and it seems that his time with Buffy and her colleagues will present
him with a steep learning curve!
