 |  | One of the all-time greatest ghost stories, The Woman in Black arrives at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry on 10 February and promises to have them screaming in the aisles.
The classic chiller was penned by our own Susan Hill -former pupil of Barr's Hill and resident of Stratford - and was transformed into a stage play in the 80s.
The play has since gone on to spend 14 years in the West End and has gone on several tours around the UK, leaving around two million people scared entirely witless in its wake.
Some of you may remember a Christmas in the early 90s when a film version of The Woman in Black provided a very frightening yuletide surprise - something to have lingered in the memories of many, judging by some Internet forums (remember the scene on the bedroom ceiling.......?).
The stage version is even scarier than the TV version - which is a testament to the adaptation of Hill's book by Stephen Mallatratt - it must be a very tricky business making a two man show so damn scary!
The story begins when a confident young lawyer, Arthur Kipps, is sent to an old house near the coast in which a woman died to cast an eye over her papers.
While there, he encounters a mysterious woman dressed in black - though no one in the village will tell him who she is or anything about her - in fact, they won't even acknowledge she exists.

What does she have to do with the woman that passed away and what is the terrible secret behind her appearances?
The two actors, Robery Demeger and Damien Matthews, manage to bring the scary story to life - complete with gothic mansions, haunted graveyards and hushed locals - with a magnificent set and some super hound effects.
The special effects aren't your usual West End pyrotechnics - everything is minimal. Two blokes, two chairs and a hamper have never been so terrifying.
As the Sunday Mirror said: "Don't go unless you like being scared out of your wits".
