The third Annual Open Exhibition at Rugby Art Gallery and Museum will be on from Friday 4 October until Sunday 17 November. The show promises to showcase the very best local talent from the Borough of Rugby.

A wide range of approaches and disciplines will be represented in the show including ceramics, digital media, glass, mixed media, painting, photography, sculpture and textiles. Many of the artworks will be for sale providing the opportunity to but unique Christmas gifts.

The Open in 2001 proved to be one of the most popular shows of the year attracting over 5000 visitors. Staff at the art gallery are expecting many visitors and are again inviting them to vote for their favourite artwork by the end of Sunday 20 October.

The most popular work will be awarded the RAGM People's Choice Prize of Β£100. Other prizes to bestow include the RADFAS Rugby Open Painting Award presented by the Rugby Decorative and Fine Arts Society, the Rod Waspe Drawing Prize presented by Allan Tyler on Thursday 3 October at 7pm. Kall Kwik Printing have also lent their support.

Friday 4 October - Sunday 17 November 2002.

The gallery is open at these times throughout the week:

Monday closed
Tuesday 10am-8pm
Wednesday 10am-5pm
Thursday 10am-8pm
Friday 10am-5pm
Saturday 10am-4pm
Sunday 1pm-5pm

Venue details

At the Rugby Art Gallery and Museum you can explore the rich heritage of Rugby from the Romans to the Great British Arts of the 20th and 21st Centuries. At the museum visitors can handle Roman pottery from a settlement just outside Rugby and learn about Rugby's history throughout the past two centuries.

The art gallery showcases quality exhibitions of national and local art and craft. The Rugby Collection of Modern Art is housed in the building and is regularly shown in the Art Gallery.
