Private places

Endlessly
Detail of Endlessly by Bruno Cavellec
Talking about his spiritual outlook, Bruno said: 鈥淭here are places where people seldom venture. They are inside each of us and yet difficult to reach sometimes. Places to feel, to wander, to get lost or to hide when there is nowhere else to go.鈥

He added: 鈥淢y work relates to emotive subjects such as loss, solitude, silence and infinity.鈥

Lost in music

Bruno also uses music as a large influence. He said: 鈥淢usic has always been crucial to my artistic development. It has the rare ability to penetrate my very soul and touch the darkest chords inside.鈥

鈥淏efore I paint I immerse myself in music, letting the painting come. I concentrate this energy on the canvas making it into a spiritual composition.鈥

Bruno also thinks paintings can have lives of their own, starting reactions and relationships.

He said: 鈥淚 believe that, beyond the canvasses, paintings still live, confronting us with our identity and re-defining the places that surround us and the emptiness within.鈥
