A family at Little Bridge House

Precious Lives

Thanks to the wonderful generosity of the county, we at Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Cornwall have managed to raise an astonishing Β£26,000 so far for the Precious Lives Appeal. We would like to kindly thank each and every one of those people who have sent in money.

This invaluable Hospice to be based in Cornwall will help families with sick children who currently have to cross the border into Devon to use the specialist facilities and care in their own county.

The aim of the Precious Lives appeal is to save Cornish families long journeys to existing hospices at Barnstaple or Bristol.

Fundraisers include people like Sheila Richards from Millbrook.ΜύShe was inspired to fundraise after her baby granddaughter had a health scare. She sent in her pound coin and also held a Curry Night at her home.Μύ

She raised Β£50 and is planning another similar event,Μύshe explains,Μύ"In Cornwall we need somewhere like Little Bridge house, exactly the same support.Μύ It's a long way to go to north Devon with a sick child.Μύ If it's within our county, that alleviates suffering."Μύ

"When we launched the appeal we could never have imagined raising so much money in so little time. Thank you very much for your support."
