Fowey Regatta 2007

Hundreds enjoyed the racing and music at the Fowey Regatta in August. The sun was shining for the many gig races that took place. See a photo gallery and read about the event from the Caradon Ladies team point of view.

The racing in the Fowey Regatta is always a popular event for Cornwall's gig rowers.

It was held with just days to go before the season finale in Newquay. Many teams used the racing to gain further training for the grand final.

Hundreds of visitors soaked up the atmosphere, while the gig rowings glided through the water, under the hot August sunshine.

It is very much a family regatta, being part of the Fowey Carnival week, with events occurring daily on the Town Quay and the midweek carnival processions.Μύ

Other events included the Red Arrows display, Falmouth Working Boats race and it all ended with a spectacular fireworks display over the harbour.
