Ken Bruce leaving Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2, January 2023.

Summary of complaint

We have received complaints from people concerned about Ken Bruce leaving Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2 in March of this year.

Our response

Ken Bruce is a brilliant broadcaster and has been a friend and companion to millions as well as a much loved part of the Radio 2 family across the decades in his extraordinary career at the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ. Whilst we will miss Ken, we respect his decision and wish him all the best of luck in the future.

Radio 2 remains hugely proud of its range of presenters from their 30s to 80 years old, an age range which hasn’t changed in decades, and Ken himself started presenting on Radio 2 at the age of 33. Β Radio 2 will continue to be a multi-generational radio station that serves a 35+ audience with listeners tuning in each week to our fantastic range of programmes, hosted by some of the UK’s best loved presenters. Β Radio 2 will also continue to play a wide variety of the best music from the 1960s to the current day, including folk, jazz, rock, pop and dance from across the decades, by playing over 16,000 different songs each year across the station. Some of the brilliant content highlights we have coming up include the continuation of our Top Brass series, our recent 21st Century Folk initiative, and Radio 2’s Piano Room Month, featuring artists such as Michael Ball, Suzanne Vega, and Belinda Carlisle, all performing with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra. All of these programmes are also available on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Sounds.
