The Production Management Skills Fund has been created in partnership with other UK broadcaster to address the current shortage in production management skills facing the UK TV industry. The fund aims to ease the short-term strain in production management and help build a wider talent pool for the future. Collectively the broadcasters are committing Β£1m of funding.
Production companies can draw on the fund to support additional roles including:
- Stepping up roles for more junior production managers or coordinators to work alongside and learn from more experienced individuals.
- Transferring to a mid-level role for individuals with transferable skills from another industry, such as event or theatre management.
The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ will contribute at least 50% of the salaries of these additional roles for the duration of a production. Where possible, we will prioritise diverse talent, smaller and medium sized indies, and those based in the Nations and English regions, in line with our strategic priorities.
The fund will complement our existing investment in production management training in the sector.
Producers with a Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ commission should speak to their commissioner if they would like to access the fund.
