Alan will not contravene the Highway Code.
Ìý Behind the comic creation are several high profile talents

Armando Iannucci, Steve Coogan, Patrick Marber
Alan is played by Steve Coogan (pictured, middle). The character of Alan Partridge was created for spoof news programme On The Hour and, as producer/writer Armando Iannucci (pictured, far left) requested, he was a bit of every sports reporter you've ever heard. Coogan, Iannucci and Patrick Marber (right) developed the character further for The Day Today and Knowing Me Knowing You - With Alan Partridge.

David Schneider, Armando Iannucci, Peter Baynham
Primarily a vehicle for experimental, and often controversial, Christopher Morris (pictured bottom, right, with Day Today logo), On The Hour is now regarded as a benchmark in British comedy. Its TV conversion, The Day Today was equally brilliant. Both shows and subsequent Alan Partridge comedies would make use of the naturalistic performing talents of Rebecca Front (below, left), Doon MacKichan (below, right), David Schneider (pictured above, yellow shirt), and Patrick Marber.

In the series I'm Alan Partridge, Peter Baynham (pictured above, maroon shirt) took over from Patrick Marber as co-writer with Coogan and Iannucci. Iannucci, Baynham and Schneider had already worked extensively together on the excellent current affairs comedy The Friday Night Armistice. Patrick Marber went on to become a leading figure in British theatre. The rest continue to write and produce comedy for radio, TV and Films.
