How to make the Blue Peter 2024 Christmas Card with Hacker 📮
🚨 Be careful when using sharp objects, get a grown-up to help you 🚨
1. Creating the post box
First, draw a post box design on your red card. Make sure you draw a small rectangle near the top of the post box for the letters to go in to.
Cut out your post box design and carefully cut out the letter slot.
You can also add some extra details like a post box sign and some shading to really bring it to life!
2. Making the card
Fold your blue card in half horizontally.
Take your post box and place it on top of the blue card in the middle, and with a pencil trace around the letter slot so you have an outline on the card.
Remove the post box and carefully cut out the letter slot from the blue card. (Get a grown-up to help you as this part can be a bit tricky)
Before you stick your post box onto your blue card, we need some snow! Take the white card and cut a wavy line across it, and stick it down ontothe blue card.
Glue the post box on top, making sure you line the letter holes up.
Add any extra details onto the front of your card, Hacker and Shini have added some snow and snowflakes.
3. Adding Santa's Sleigh
Now you need to create Santa's sleigh to collect the letters on the inside of the card where the slot for the post box is.
Taking your plastic wallet or freezer bag and cut a square big enough to cover most of the inside of the card.
Once you have your square, tape it to the inside of the card leaving the top of it open, making sure to cover the letterbox slot.
If you want to add a sleigh, draw a sleigh onto your white and red card and glue it down over the bottom of the plastic bag.
4. Letters
To make the letters, cut out rectangles small enough to fit through the slot of the post box. You can write little wishes or messages on your tiny envelopes.
Glue some pegs on the front of the card and then clip on your letters to the pegs.
Once this is done you can then take your letters and post them!
5. Finish your card off with a message ✨
Once you've made your card don't forget to add a message for your loved ones.
