Snow surprise Christmas card

Have a go at making this spectacular snow filled surprise card and guarantee a white Christmas for all - You're welcome!

You will need
  • Two pieces of coloured card
  • Pencil
  • Putty or tack
  • Scissors
  • Thin elastic bands
  • Tissue or plastic paper
  • White confetti
  • Glue
  • Tape
  • Colourful ribbon
  • Decorative items

Instructions

STEP 1

Fold a piece of card in half.

Make two holes on either side of the card with a pencil. These holes should be made roughly 5 cm from the edge of the card.

Ìý

Top Tip: Before you make the holes make sure you stick a small piece of tack on the other side of the card for the pencil to go through!

STEP 2

Cut a thin elastic band in half, push it through one of the holes and tie a knot at the back of the card.

Do the same again with the other end of the elastic band. Repeat for the other two holes.Ìý

Ìý

STEP 3

Use some tape over the knots to make the elastic secure.Ìý

Take second piece of card, fold it in half and stick it to the outside.Ìý

This makes the front of the card look nice and neat.

STEP 4

Using an A4 piece of tissue paper, fold the paper into thirds, lengthways – so you end up with a long strip of tissue paper.

Carefully wrap the folded tissue paper around the middle of the elastic bands and stick it securely. This should make a nice little pouch to hold the "snow" in the centre of your card.

STEP 5

Place your snow confetti into the tissue paper pouch. You can make this using ripped up pieces of paper.Ìý

Make sure all the snow confetti is bunched together and fold the pouch in half and then twist the pouch three times, so the elastic bands start to twist.

STEP 6

Close the card and tie a piece of ribbon in the centre to make it look like a Christmas present and stop the snow from falling out!

Then decorate your card! We've decorated ours with Blue Peter ships!
