How to get a Blue Peter Book badge

Introducing the exciting new Book badge, designed by one of the UK’s best known illustrators, Sir Quentin Blake; who you might know from bringing to life characters such as Roald Dahl's BFG and Matilda! To earn your badge, just share your love of books with us by answering the questions below! You can apply using our online form or by post.

To earn this badge, you must:

Be aged between 5-15 years old.

Ask your parent or guardian for permission to apply and ask them to read the Privacy Notice.
Get your parent or guardian to help you fill out your form and personal details.

Tell us about a book you have read and what you think about it. Maybe you liked the characters, or perhaps you enjoyed going on exciting adventures in faraway places.

Upload your illustration of a character or a scene from the story. This could be a drawing, painting or even digital artwork.

Let us know what other books and authors you have enjoyed reading and why.

Can I apply as a group or school?

Children must apply for badges themselves, but teachers and group leaders can collect and mail completed application forms in one envelope. Please ensure the correct postage payment, include each child's home address (not the school address), full name, date of birth and confirm parental or guardian consent for participation.

When will I receive my Blue Peter Book badge?

Thousands of children apply for badges each year and it can take up to 12 weeks for your badge to arrive, so please be patient! If you have any further questions or need any help, check out our FAQ page.
