Where are the troops coming from to back the Lebanese Army in southern Lebanon?
We were invited to interview the Brazilian foreign minister, Celso Amorim, early this morning.
We were given the impression by his press officer that Brazil, with nine million citizens of Lebanese origin, intended to make a big commitment to helping Lebanon now.
But one commitment was missing.

I asked John Palfrey at the Berkman Center for Internet and Society at Harvard Law School about the issue of why so much more information for the world's citizens did not seem to be handing them more power.
He answered as follows:
"A lot of people have struggled with this question of whether or not in fact Internet helps democracies. Does it help people who otherwise don't have some form of empowerment to have more power? And I think we don't know the answer to that yet.
"I think what we do know is that there is more access to more information for more people around the world on more topics. And I think for starters that's an interesting fact."

We are getting more information about this conflict, from more people, more quickly than ever before.
The power of the Internet does not (yet?) translate into power to these individuals who we get to know rather well from their posts.
They seem just as powerless to influence their leaders as anyone caught up in the deadly momentum of any previous war.
