DORTMUND β The Polish are out in force ahead of tonightβs game. Coming out of the Hauptbahnhof (central station) were plenty of fellas in their Poland kit β but also a fair few female fans in tiny tops and mini skirts. All in team colours of course - sadly I didnβt manage to get a photo before they disappeared into the crowd.
I was also startled by what some of the Croatian ladies were wearing (or not) yesterday in Frankfurt as they faced .
Still, with temperatures at 30C or thereabouts, they may have been right to keep clothing to a minimum. And there was no shortage of fellow fans lining up to have their pictures taken with them.
The stretch on Frankfurtβs River Main where β best view Iβve had at a Fan Fest so far β may also have a claim to be the new Champs Elysees.
I bumped into two former colleagues also out for the World Cup from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Kent - have a look at what the irrepressible Phil Harrison is doing .
Unexpected encounters have turned into a big part of my World Cup so far. Travelling everywhere by train means Iβve had the chance to meet some great fans - all happy to have a chat (especially by midnight..) and seeming to be in good spirits as they head home after a hard day's soccer viewing.
I particularly enjoyed a rendition of all the Aussie rules football songs β just for me - by a group of Australians travelling to the same hotel outside Kaiserslautern. Cheers guys!
You see, Fletch and Ricco may have the luxuries of the Svan, but they probably get less entertainment en routeβ¦
Does anyone have any good βmaking friends on trainsβ stories? How are you finding your travels round Germany?

Once again Germany have proved to be dead lucky in winning. You can always guarantee a last ditch finish of some sort. The Poles played very well and certainly did not deserve to lose this game. The Polish goalkeeper was outstanding but the players showed a tough resiliance in this game unlike their timid effort against Equador. I used to fancy Germany to win the world cup but now I hope that they don't. For me only one game is memorable so far and that was to see the magic of Ghana against Italy. If only they had the finish they could easily beat the others on that form. Football played at top speed like it should and constant attack, wonderful stuff and light years away from the Germans and the England team.

Well, if you don't consider scoring four goals (with six goals altogether) "football at top speed", then what is? ;-)
