Brazil v Argentina - who wins?

mandeep_sanghera.gifON A TRAIN TO DORTMUND - Making my way around Germany I've noticed a contest between Brazil and Argentina exists on - and off the pitch.

I've seen Brazil play twice at this tournament and was in town when they beat Ghana last time out and there’s one thing that stands out.

When the samba kings are around everybody suddenly becomes a Brazilian.

All different kinds of nationalities can be seen wearing the as they join in the carnival atmosphere the South American side's fans whip up.

From toddlers to grannies, Brazil seem to draw the support of most neutrals as well as being almost everyone's second team.

Is it because of the football their team (usually) play? Or, is it because the Brazilian fans are welcomed into town like long lost friends as they bring a fun-loving atmosphere to the places they visit? Or is it because they win so often?!!

Whatever it is, the beat of their drums seem to hypnotise neutrals into giving Brazil their backing.

Non-Brazilians make a bee-line with their video cameras for the exotically dressed dancers and those in costume.

They also get their pictures taken with the more colourful and better-looking of the country's contingent as they enjoy the Brazil experience.

But, anything Brazil can do, Argentina can as well. I’ve see them play three times and they might not draw the support of as many neutrals - but .

They have a fanatical nature during matches as they bounce up and down, whirl their shirts and scarves in the air and sing their captivating chants.

When they beat Mexico they decided to have a party in the street just outside the ground as they drummed and danced away.

Argentina fans seem louder and prouder while the Brazilian's are more easy-going and I just can't make my mind up which set of supporters comes out on top.

Excuse me? There is no and there will be no Brazil vs. Argentina, neither on nor off the pitch (at least not in this Worldcup). You better start thinking about an article on Germany vs. England...

if you watched any Brazil home game in WCQ that did not end 4-0 or more, you would stop loving the Brazil fans so much.
Example: Brazil 3-Uruguay 3 in 2003.
First half, Brazil leading 2-0, could have been 4-0 and everybody dancing, singing, etc.
Second half, Uruguay scores 3 goals, and the Brazilians start cheering for the visitors, except when Brazil had chances: they became fans once again.
A few thousands fans left the ground before Ronaldo's last goal, making it 3-3.
Argentinian fans are the best in the world, unless they become violent...

In responce to THOMAS post1.

dont be silly now - can you imagine comparing english and german fans?
lets see -
English fans - bring their reputation of beer swilling, fighting and trouble making which makes everyone in the whole town feel at home i'm sure!!!

German Fans - bring their arogance, schnitzles oh - and also lots of beer!! well at least everyone will be well oiled!!

to be fair - it does seem that the English are behaving better than previous tournaments and were even being praised at the beginning!!!

I love both the Brazilians, and the Argentines. I've become a bit of an Argentina fanatic this year, even buying a Boca Juniors shirt and watching this seasons Clausura. But I've always liked Brazil and the prospect of a Brazil vs Argentina final is mouthwatering! and yes, I too will be swirling my shirt over my head tomorrow afternoon...

I think you should all be ashamed of yourselves. It is clear that rather than Brazil or Argentina, "football" will be the winner.

Mind you, how FIFA will sort that one out, to decide who should win the Jules Rimet trophy, is beyond me.

Brazilian renowned journalist Juca Kfouri tells to ARG and BRZ to be careful
Brazilian renowned journalist Juca kfouri says that FIFA is very affraid of seeing Brazil lifting their sixth trophy

He says that FIFAÒ‘s president Joseph Blatter fears that this would give even more power to the president of Brazilian confederation Ricardo Teixeira who wants to bid for BlatterÒ‘s place in 2007 FIFAÒ‘s elections

In a conversation in "off" with a journalist, Blatter said he feels he was betrayed by Teixeira and started to mention that there are other options for 2014 WC, a Cup that was pretty much assured for Brazil.

Both barely talk to each other in the World Cup GroupÒ‘s drawing.

He also says that FIFA is affraid of Brazil winning a sixth title in Germany would make them favorites to win a seventh title in South Africa 2010 (Brazil is the only country to win Cups outside of their continent) and then a HUGE favorite to win a eighth title in Brazil 2014 which would ruin FIFA biggest product. .the World Cup, who could becomea predictable and boring competition like Formula 1 after Schumacher dominated for some years.. and that FIFA DOESNT want a southamerican team winning the cup in Europe, because it would diminish the interest of european people (FIFAÒ‘s main market) in the competition...

He says that both Brazil and Argentina now should pay attention to bad calls.. because until now, FIFA had no interest in former champions to went down (seeing how the 2002 WC was lame), but now is a different scenario and for FIFA, a France vs Germany or Germany vs England final is so much interesting (economically, politically and for the good of World Cup) then an Argentina vs Brazil final.

And after refereeÒ‘s scandals in Germany 2004, Brazil 2005 and Italy 2006, we shouldnt be so cetic about corruption in football.. he confirms he has his reasons and confidencials informations to believe in this.

Believe me: watching a football game in Argentina is a different experience altogether. The neverending chanting and jumping you now see in Germany is a minuscule sample of the atmosphere you'd find in any game in Buenos Aires (especially derbies).

Its a little bit too early to start talking about Brazil/Argentina because Germany and France will have a lot to say about that.

Having said that, I just like the way Brazil plays especially with very few fouls like against Japan but Argentina this time have got a very good squad compared to the one that lost 4 nil to Brazil in the Confederation Cup final last year.

Both great teams, and both have great supporters and fan base. True football loving countries. And we love their colourful supporters.

Wonder how many people love English supporters? I'm an Asian British, and I'd never feel comfortable wearing England shirt and mixing with drunkard White English supporters. I know sooner or later, I'll be a victim of racist jibs. But I can safely say, I wouldn't mind mixing with samba boys.
